COMPETITION INFORMATION
We have four different competitions to give participants a varied experience and the chance to showcase their skills in front of our lively, cheering crowds and a panel of pro judges.
WSDC REGISTRY J&J
J&J competitions showcase the improvisation skills of dancers as individuals are randomly assigned to partners of their level and dance to songs selected by the DJ (Your chance to put the Asia dot on your points map!)
STRICTLY SWING
Strictly Swing competitions give you a chance to dance with a partner of your choice while still showcasing the spontaneity of WCS by dancing to music randomly selected by the DJ.
WESTIE CHALLENGE
The highlight of our comps, Westie Challenge is guaranteed to be a good time! Anyone can participate AND anyone can be a judge! Prelims are all level, luck of the draw style. For finals competitors are randomly paired up in pro-am partnerships and face off in one-on-one dance battles tournament-style and judged by a lottery-selected panel including all different levels of dancers, until only one couple is left standing!
RISING STAR
Show off all your hard work, skills, and tricks in front of a roaring crowd in this routine division! Competitors enter as a couple, with their own music and pre-rehearsed choreography.
If entering multiple partnered divisions, (Strictly Swing or Rising Star) each must be entered with a DIFFERENT partner.
WESTIE CHALLENGE
The highlight of our comps, you can dance, play Squid Game-style mini games, and compete for cold, hard cash! Prelims are run like a simple high-low JNJ, with participants paired up with one partner throughout. Then, for the tournament finals the top 12 pairs face off in team mini games to win advantages for their one-on-one dance battles. They are judged by a randomly-selected panel including all different levels of dancers, until only one couple is left standing and receives the Golden Piggy Bank!

ALL KOREAN J&J
You’ve probably heard of All-American or All-European comps before. In Korea, everyone's a part of our dance family and an honorary Korean for the weekend, so you're welcome to compete in the All Korean--similar to other all level J&Js, but with a K-Pop twist! All levels of competitor are paired up randomly and compete with the same partner throughout prelims & finals.
